Layered History

This photograph captures the mesmerising "cake layers" of Síðujökull, an outlet glacier of the massive Vatnajökull ice cap in southeastern Iceland. These unique patterns, visible in the melting glacier, are formed over centuries as alternating layers of volcanic ash and snow compact into ice. The result is a stunning natural timeline, revealing the intricate relationship between Iceland’s glaciers and volcanic activity.

All prints are currently sold and shipped as a loose print in high quality tubes to keep them safe when being shipped to you. Frames are not included but all prints fit perfectly into standard size frames.
